Diana Picture

Those poor boys. That was my first thought.

Followed by sadness for the family of Dodi Al Fayed, his parents were griefstricken, and the chauffeur from the Ritz who must also have someone who loved him.

Followed by rage. For a fucking photograph of a kiss. For money. One of the photographers took a picture seconds after the crash.

Creeps.

Loathsome vultures.

Murderers.

I was listening to the Teev, in the background, while I was looking for something on my PC. And then I heard the news that there had been an accident, and that Dodi Al Fayed was dead, and Princess Diana was seriously injured. I knew it was bad then, the language they used, none of the but in a stable condition....., I knew it was bad then. Then the news came on at 2.00 p.m. that she had died.

Diana's brother said:

This is not a time for recriminations but for sadness. However I would say that I always believed the press would kill her in the end. But not even I could imagine that they would take such a direct hand in her death as seems to be the case. It would appear that every proprietor and editor of every publication that has paid for intrusive and exploitative photographs of her, encouraging greedy and ruthless individuals to risk everything in pursuit of Diana's image, has blood on his hands today.

I agree. Blood money. I hope they never sleep well again.

I am not a Royalty fan, and I am not normally a vengeful soul, especially when it's not someone I know, or ever really paid that much attention to. But I am so angry at the photographers who were chasing the car. There were at least 5 photographers on motorcycles chasing the car, weaving in and out and around the car . I don't think I'd be driving too steadily if I were hounded by that many motorcycles.

It's just such a stupid reason for a woman to die, for the man she was getting to know to die, for a chauffer who just drove them to die. For two boys to lose their mother. Two boys whose lives will be hard enough as is, what with divorced parents and being in the Royal family under that degree of scrutiny, but to do this to them, to cause them this much pain and sorrow and grief, is just evil. For money, this is just plain evil.

I am a liberal thinker, I do not believe in censorship, I do not believe in capital punishment. But I believe these photographers are bad people, and they obviously have no problem with endangering life, and so they should be kept away from other people.

And, something that would harm all of them more, don't legislate for privacy laws, because these creeps won't abide by those. Change the copyright laws, so that people have copyright over their own image. If a photographer wants a picture, he has to have express written permission, else it's a breach of copyright. A few newspapers being sued, and the papparazzi will get bugger all money, because newspapers won't touch their photo's unless they have legal permission.

The press has enraged me today, with their scrambling to cover themselves.

The press are like "oh oh, it's the photographers fault"

um, guys, who buys the Photos??

oh oh, and the other line they've been trottingout today:

"she used the publicity as much as we followed her, so it's not our fault. It was hard for us to know when too much was enough."

I'll give you a tip boys, when she said No!, that was enough

when she asked you to leave her alone, that was enough.

when she begged for some privacy when she was on holidays with her boys, that was enough

when the car was speeding away, enough.

and now that's she dead, pretty strong hint, enough..

bastards, self serving, money seeking vulturous bastards.

I remember her Wedding on July 29th 1981. I was 15, she was 20. I was in boarding school, the majority of the teev was verboten, but they let us watch this, because this was special. It was a real buzz to watch it, to watch a real live fairy tale princess. Her death , the whole horrible mess, seems surreal, like they've tacked the wrong ending on to the story.
